Cell Culture
The Cell Culture facility has two dedicated tissue culture suites equipped with the equipment necessary to maintain and treat a wide range of mammalian and insect cells.
Specialized equipment available includes:
- Zeiss Axiovert 25 Fluorescent Microscope with Digital Camera
- New Brunswick NucleoCounter
- Cryomed II Storage Unit
Services available at the Center include:
- Flask cell culture and scale up of adherent or suspension cells such as mammalian, hybridoma, and insect cells.
- Growth, viability and toxicology studies using small molecules or biocompounds.
- Transfection and transformation of cells.
- Protein expression and downstream purification.
- RNA isolation from cell culture studies.
- Fluorescent studies and image capture.
Additionally the CIB has Bioflo 3000 with 5 liter bioreactors available, as well as a Celligen bioreactor cell culture vessel
