The Flow Cytometry Core Laboratory is a service laboratory, under the direction of Dr. Chris Davies. The laboratory is equipped with a BD Biosciences Special Order FACSAria II fluorescent activated cell sorter (FACS). The FACSAria II is a high-speed FACS that is also capable of performing high-resolution, multicolor flow cytometry analysis. Our FACSAria II is equipped with: blue, red and ultraviolet lasers; two forward scatter detectors (a photodiode and a photomultiplier tube); a side scatter detector; photomultiplier tubes with filters for simultaneous detection of 11 fluorochromes; and Diva software for data acquisition and analysis.
